I am NOT impressed by this volume.
It's nice of the Emberleys to requite their daughter/granddaughter some exposure by having her practise a "song" of this volume. And since I found the rhythm of this story unworkable to the traditional tune, I downloaded the "song".

And it's disappointing to see Ed and Rebecca Emberley do less than their best.

I came across this one in one thousand search for a read aloud that included a vocal. The book begins with a monster who's feeling sick due to a tick he swallowed. He tries to gear up the problem by swallowing a plethora of other insects, reptiles, and animals. It ends when he encounters a lion who's a little too much for the monster to handle.
